They flew by charter, enjoyed a barbecue reception with athletic director Bob De Carolis and cheered the Beavers to victory over Arizona -- all compliments of OSU athletics. The trip was a thank-you to the donors on board, all of whom gave at least $8,000 to the OSU athletic department this year. "These little perks, it's like a Christmas present," Joan Skoro said. Jim Gillespie, Coldwell Banker's CEO, who dreamed up the index, points out that college towns can be good places to live. "They're more affordable than many major markets," he says. "College towns have so much to offer residents, such as employment, continuing education, cultural opportunities and, of course, sports," Gillespie said in a release....

The visitors won by scores of 30-26, 30-20, 29-31, 30-28. The slow start was not typical of the way the Saints have played in the past, said PC coach Raftyn Birath. "It just wasn't how we normally come out," said Birath. "We had a lack of focus and the players weren't ready to play all the way around. When you get down early, it's tough to turn the switch on to get going. We played hard defensively, which is always expected." Birath said the Saints had to contend with two of the better players in the UMAC in hitters Rachel Meyer and Danielle Kramer, who combined for 37 kills for the visitors....
